Frequently Asked Questions

What is RPA grading?

RPA is a professional card grading service that authenticates and evaluates the condition of collectible Pokémon cards. Each card receives a grade from 1-10 based on its condition, with 10 being gem mint (perfect condition).

What does Grade 10 mean?

Grade 10 (Gem Mint) represents a flawless card with perfect centering, sharp corners, pristine edges, and no surface wear. This is the highest possible grade and indicates the card is in perfect condition.

How is the card protected after grading?

After grading, each card is permanently sealed in a tamper-evident protective case. This case protects the card from damage, dust, and handling while allowing you to display and view the card safely.

Can I remove the card from the case?

We do not recommend removing cards from their graded cases. Opening the case will void the grading certification and may damage the card. The protective case is designed for long-term storage and display.

How can I verify the grading is authentic?

Each graded card includes an official RPA certification label on the protective case. The label contains the grade, card details, and authentication information.

How should I store my graded card?

Store graded cards in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep them in their protective cases and avoid stacking heavy items on top. For long-term storage, consider using card storage boxes designed for graded cards.

Does grading increase the card's value?

Professional grading typically increases a card's value, especially for high-grade cards (Grade 9-10). Grading provides authentication and condition verification, which gives buyers confidence and can command premium prices.

What if the case is damaged during shipping?

All our graded cards are carefully packaged for shipping. If you receive a damaged case, please contact us immediately with photos. We will work with you to resolve the issue.

What grading scale does RPA use?

RPA uses a 10-point grading scale:

10 - Gem Mint (Perfect condition)
9 - Mint
8 - Near Mint/Mint
7 - Near Mint
6 - Excellent/Mint
5 - Excellent
4 - Very Good/Excellent
3 - Very Good
2 - Good
1 - Poor
